Need a hotel in New Orleans?
On June 2, 2012, Kady and David reenacted their first date for their anniversary (which would’ve been June 4th, but that was a Monday). They went to Circa 1857 in Baton Rouge, had lunch at the little café and looked at the antiques, just like the first time. David even wore his “first date shirt” and they sat at the same table. For those who haven't been to Circa 1857, its layout is a lot of separate rooms with antiques or galleries of art. As they were walking through the shop, David began scouting a spot where they could be alone. Each corner they turned, there were more people.
Then, finally, in a secluded room, David pulled Kady close, told her how much he loves her (and was just being very sweet and romantic, of course). Kady started tearing up and he sounded like he may be getting choked up, too. “Are you crying?” she asked, as he began to start moving her away. Kady asked immediately, “Why are you pushing me away?” At that moment, David got down on one knee, pulled a ring from his pocket and said,
“Will you marry me?”
She said “Yes!” with joyful tears in both their eyes. (Note from David: Her face at that moment was more beautiful than anything I’ve ever seen.)
It was perfect.
